Jeff glanced at Matt from the corner of his eye. His brother was laid across a bench in the locker room with an ice pack on his knee. He wanted to take him into his arms, but the presence of others held him back.

Dear my love, haven't you wanted to be with me
And dear my love, haven't you longed to be free
I can't keep pretending that I don't even know you

Jeff stood and nudged Matt, "Hey, let's head back to the hotel." Matt opened one eye and shook his head, "Nope, knee hurts. Stayin here." Jeff smiled, "I don't understand how you can be the most responsible person I know, but a little pain turns you into a three year old." He held a hand out to Matt and helped him to his feet. They made their way to the rental car. If anyone noticed their arms around one another, they could just explain it was to help Matt's knee.

------------

The second their hotel room door shut behind them, their lips met in a crushing kiss.

And at sweet night, you are my own
Take my hand

Matt pulled away after long minutes and sank onto the closest bed. Jeff dropped their bags at the foot of it, sat, and pulled Matt's head into his lap. For a couple of minutes they just sat there, then Jeff's voice, husky with emotion, broke the silence, "God I wish we didn't have to hide." Matt's only response was to burrow his head further into the comfort of this baby brother's lap. Jeff stroked his brown hair lovingly, "Hand me the bag, Sweet." Matt sat up and grabbed Jeff's suitcase. He pulled a smaller case from it and handed it to Jeff. Jeff spread his legs so Matt could lean against his chest. He unzipped the bag and pulled a baggie, a lighter, a shot glass, a spoon, and a needle from it. "C'mon Matt, let's go away."

We're leaving here tonight
There's no need to tell anyone
They'd only hold us down
So by the morning light
We'll be halfway to anywhere
Where love is more than just your name

Jeff measured two spoonfuls of the powder from the baggie in to the shotglass. He held it over the flame of the lighter until it had turned into liquid. He filled the needle with the heroine and tapped Matt's shoulder. Matt held out his arm and Jeff carefully inserted the needle into the vein. He kissed the back of Matt's head, "Let me take you away." Then he shot the drug into his lover-brother.

I have dreamt of a place for you and I
No one knows who we are there
All I want is to give my life only to you
I've dreamt so long I cannot dream anymore
Let's run away, I'll take you there

He watched the blissful look spread across the beautiful features of his only love and prepared his own hit. Tears welled in his eyes from being forced to do this because this was the only escape they had. He just wanted this to be able to last forever. To be just them forever. Then a sudden thought had the tears forgotten instantly. He quickly emptied the remainder of the baggie into the shotglass and liquidized it. He used it to completely fill the needle, "Matty, hold out your arm." Matt looked at him questioningly, but his drugged mind was even more trusting of his love than usual. He held out the arm covered with the needle tracks and smiled. "Love you Matty. Gonna take us away forever. Just us forever." He slid the needle home.

We're leaving here tonight
There's no need to tell anyone
They'd only hold us down
So by the morning light
We'll be halfway to anywhere
Where no one needs a reason

Jeff quickly fixed the last baggie in the case. He slid the needle into his own vein. The drug hit him quickly. He pulled his beloved brother into his arms and whispered, "Together forever..." Then he floated away on a wave of happiness, and beside him his brother did the same.

Forget this life
Come with me
Don't look back you're safe now
Unlock your heart
Drop you guard
No one's left to stop you
