Matt was sitting on the grass, looking out over the pond behind the house. He was intently watching Jeff and Shannon riding their bikes over the complex course Jeff had set up. It was something that Matt had done a million times in his life. But now, he was naked…and so was Jeff. Shannon, however, was fully clothed, but saw nothing out of the ordinary about his friends' nudity. Matt clapped loudly when Jeff made a complicated jump, making it look as easy as tying his shoes. Jeff rode towards Matt and stopped, sliding the bike slightly as he neared. Small blades of grass shot up onto Matt's chest. Jeff dismounted from his bike and kneeled down next to Matt. Looking into Matt's chocolate eyes, he raised his hand and started removing the grass from Matt's skin. Jeff's hand brushed over Matt's left nipple, causing it to harden slightly. Matt's eyes widened and Jeff mirrored his brother's reaction to the gentle touch of his hand. Matt felt the burning of Jeff's flesh against his, and longed for more. Jeff's hand moved to the right side of Matt's chest, pinching the nipple with his fingertips. Matt reached up and caressed the side of Jeff's face, tracing the patterns he had shaved into his beard. Jeff leaned into Matt's hand and sighed. Matt felt Jeff's hand slide lower, past his chest, across the tender flesh of his stomach, and down to his hip. Their eyes were still locked in a heated gaze when Matt saw Jeff smile, his hand gripping the side of Matt's hipbone. Matt's brow knitted together in a questioning look, wondering why Jeff was smiling.
"I always liked your hips, Matty," Jeff whispered. "I got too much meat on 'em", Matt said. Jeff threw his head back and laughed. "That's why I like them, Matt," Jeff said. "Cuz there's more to grab hold of." With that declaration, Jeff slid his hand down and gently grabbed Matt's cock. He started stroking it softly, almost as if he was unaware of what he was doing. Matt smiled at Jeff and leaned forward to kiss his soft lips. When they touched, there was an air of electricity, and Matt could have sworn he felt the small jolt. Jeff was saying something to him. Matt pulled back and looked at him. "What, Tigger?" Jeff took Matt's hand and slowly slid it down to his cock. He wrapped Matt's fingers around his erection, then moved his other hand up and down Matt's length. Matt quickly got the idea and began to stroke Jeff with the same rhythm. Both brothers sighed at the touch that was so different, yet so familiar. The wind was blowing across their bare skin, causing goose bumps to rise on both of them. Jeff increased the pace of his hand on Matt's cock, tightening the circle. Matt followed suit. Just as Matt felt he was about to explode, Jeff stopped. "Why did you stop, Jeff?" Matt asked pleadingly. Jeff just smiled at him. "What is it, Tig?" Jeff continued to smile at Matt, his hand frozen around Matt's throbbing hardness. "What do you want, Matty?" Jeff asked. Suddenly, Shannon was standing next to Matt. He leaned down and whispered in Matt's ear, "you gotta tell him what you want, Matt." Matt frowned. "He knows," Matt said to his friend. Shannon shook his head at Matt and sighed. "Not until you tell him, man. You gotta tell him what's in your heart, your mind, your soul. He doesn't know how you feel." Matt started to argue with Shannon, but he was gone. He turned back to look at Jeff and all he saw was a cloud of blue mist floating toward a huge rainbow in the sky. He reached out to pull Jeff out of the mist, and his hand connected with soft, warm flesh.
"Ouch!!" Matt sat up quickly to find Jeff standing next to his bed, lightly rubbing his face. "Why did ya hit me, Matt?" Jeff said. "I was just trying to wake you up and see if you was hungry." Matt reached out for Jeff and grabbed his arm.
"Sorry, little brother," he said. "I guess you startled me. Did I hurt you?" Matt pulled Jeff down on the bed and gently removed his hand from his cheek. It was barely pink, but Jeff was pouting anyway.
"I was worried cuz you were having one of those dreams again, and I wanted to see if you still had fever," Jeff said, placing his hand on Matt's forehead. "Which you do," he stated, pulling back. Matt's skin ached at the loss of Jeff's touch. I really am losing my mind, Matt thought. "I'll see the doc today," Matt said as Jeff continued to stare at him. "I promise, Jeff," he said. Satisfied with that, Jeff stood and walked toward the phone.
"I'm gonna order some breakfast," Jeff said as Matt got out of bed and walked toward the bathroom. "What do you want, Matty?" Matt stopped with his hand on the doorknob. That was exactly what Jeff had asked in his dream. "You know," Matt replied. Jeff turned to look at him with those innocent green eyes. "Not until you tell me, man." Suddenly, Matt's head began to swim. The last thing he saw before he passed out was the look of concern on Jeff's face as he rushed to his brother's side.
Voices. Loud voices at that. Matt slowly opened his eyes and looked around. Jeff was kneeling on the floor next to him, holding Matt's hand and lightly patting his cheek. "You're awake," Jeff said, breathing a sigh of relief. Matt tried to sit up, but he was gently pushed back down to the floor. He looked to his other side and saw Adam sitting there. "What are you doing here?" Matt asked him. Adam leaned down so that he could see Matt better.
"Jeff called me all freaked because you passed out. I sent Jay to get the doctor and came here to calm him down, and make sure you were still breathing. You scared the hell out of him." Matt looked over at Jeff, who was nodding at him. "Dude, why didn't you tell anybody you were that sick?" Matt tried to sit up again, only to be pushed back to the floor, this time by Adam.
"It's just a cold, nothing serious," Matt replied. "The fever's been a little high, but I'm okay, really." Adam rolled his eyes at his friend's stubbornness. "Yeah, whatever you say, Hardy," Adam said. Matt started to protest, but was interrupted by a knock on the door, which Jeff quickly scrambled to answer. The doctor entered the room and walked over to Matt. "Can you make it to the bed?" he asked. Matt nodded and Adam stood, reaching out a hand to help Matt off the floor. Leaning on Adam, Matt walked to the bed, then shooed his friend away.
The doctor examined Matt, poking and prodding in his ears, nose, mouth and looking down his throat. After 10 minutes, he finally said, "Sinus infection. That could cause the dizziness and high fever you've been having." He reached into his bag and handed Matt some pill samples. "These are antibiotics. Take them 3 times a day, with meals. You should be better in a few days. Do you have anything for fever and pain?" Jeff spoke up. "Yeah, we have Tylenol," he told the doctor. "Take those as well. And try to get some rest. When you get home, you might want to visit your own doctor for a follow up. If you get any worse, call me immediately."
Matt lay back down on the pillow as Jeff showed the doctor to the door and thanked him. Jay was standing beside the other bed, and he looked like he was about to cry. Jeff looked over at his friend and asked him what was wrong. "I shoulda got the doctor last night," Jay said. "I knew he was sick and we could have gotten him medication sooner if I had something then." Matt looked over at him. "It's not your fault, Jay," he said, trying to comfort his friend. "Besides, the doc says I'm okay, so there's no harm. Got it?" Jay nodded.
Suddenly Matt's stomach growled. "Hey, Tig?" he said. Jeff walked to where Matt lay on the bed and sat down carefully. "Yeah?" he said. "What's wrong? What do you need, Matty?" Matt grinned at his brother's concern. "Where's that breakfast you promised me?" Jeff jumped up quickly and shrieked. "Oh shit, I forgot that was what I was doing!! What do you want to eat? I'll get you anything you want, Matt!" Matt laughed. "Calm down, man," Adam said, grabbing Jeff's arm before he started bouncing around the room.
B
"Wasn't there a Burger King down the street?" Matt asked. Jeff stopped and thought for a second. "Yeah, I think so," he answered. "Cool," Matt said. "Would you mind going down there and getting me a sausage biscuit, some hash browns and orange juice?" Jeff nodded. "Anything else?" Matt shook his head and reached for his wallet on the nightstand. He pulled out some bills and handed them to Jeff. He went to get his jacket and was putting it on when Adam and Jay spoke at the same time. "Hey, Jeff, would you mind…" they began, then stopped when laughter hit them. Jay spoke first. "How about I go with you, and I can get something for Adam and myself?" Jeff nodded, and got a sheet of paper to write down their orders so he and Jay wouldn't forget.
"I'll stay here with sick boy," Adam said. Matt seemed to like that idea. After assuring Jeff that Matt would be safe with him, Adam closed the door behind them and went to sit on the bed opposite Matt. "So," he began, looking at his friend, "why didn't you tell anybody you weren't feeling well? Must be some infection to make you pass out like that."
Matt struggled for a moment before answering him. He was trying to think of a good excuse, when he thought, what the hell, it's just Adam. He might think I've lost my mind, but he won't tell anyone else. Besides, he told me about that time with him and… "You okay?" Adam's question broke through Matt's thought. Matt swallowed hard before answering. "It wasn't that. I've been having these, uh, dreams, and I just freaked out for a second."
B
"Dreams?" Adam said. "Like, nightmares or something?" Matt shook his head. This wasn't going to be easy, but he had to tell someone. "Not exactly. It's just that every time I have one of them, then wake up, Jeff says something to me that I heard in the dream, and it freaks me out." He was afraid to meet Adam's eyes, so Matt continued to talk. "I was going to the bathroom and he was calling room service and said something from my dream and I got real lightheaded, that's all."
Adam seemed to be processing the explanation before speaking. "What are these dreams about?" he asked. He noticed the look of discomfort on Matt's face, then asked, "hey, it's not the one about the rabid Easter bunny again, is it? Cuz that one was way too weird for me!" Matt shook his head no. the look of relief on Adam's face was almost comical. "Then tell me what it is. Maybe I can help you figure it out."
B
Matt got out of bed and began pacing the floor, twirling a lock of hair around one finger. Adam's concern grew, because Jeff was the one prone to nervous pacing, not Matt. Nothing got to Matt. Adam reached out and grabbed Matt's arm, stopping the pacing. Matt looked down at him and started chewing on his lip. "Fine," Matt said, "I'll tell you, but you have to swear that you won't repeat it to anyone, especially not Jay, ok?" Adam nodded his agreement.
Matt took a deep breath and exhaled loudly. "I've been having really nasty dreams," Matt said. Adam almost laughed. "Damn, Matt, I never knew that sex dreams could get you so worked up here. No pun intended, of course." Matt shot him a look that said "shut up", but Adam ignored him. "What could be that bad? Let me guess…an orgy with five Lita look-alikes?" Matt's eyes narrowed. "No, no," Adam said, beginning to chuckle, "I got it…you and Stephanie!!" Matt started walking toward Adam, and he could see the anger beginning to darken Matt's eyes. "No? Maybe you and….god, it's not me, is it?" Matt stopped and shot daggers at Adam with his chocolate brown eyes. "Worse," Matt barely whispered. Adam stopped laughing and thought for a moment. "C'mon, man," he said, "the only thing worse than having sex dreams about me would be for you to be dreaming about…" Adam's voice trailed off as the thought completed itself. He looked up at Matt and noticed the look of fear and confusion in his eyes. Adam scrambled off the bed and put his hands on Matt's shoulders. He looked deep into Matt's eyes and saw his answer, but knew he had to ask anyway. "Jeff?" he whispered. Matt lowered his eyes and nodded his head yes. Adam blew out the breath he had been holding. "Man," he said, looking at Matt, "that's kinda…" "Sick?" Matt finished for him. Adam shook his head. "No, that wasn't what I was going to say," Adam said. "Just a little strange." Adam dropped his hands from Matt's shoulders and stepped back. Matt was trying to read his expression, but couldn't. Slowly, a smile began creeping into the corners of Adam's mouth. When he saw the look of shock on Matt's face, he began to laugh out loud.
"Jeff, huh?" Adam asked again. Matt's panic-stricken face said it all. Adam's eyes sparkled as he asked the next question. "So," he said, barely able to contain his laugh, "was he any good??" The anger flashed in Matt's eyes again before smacking Adam in the side of his head. "What the hell do you mean, was he any good?" Matt fumed. "I just told you that I've been having dreams about fucking my goddamn brother, and all you have to say is 'was he any good?"! You're as sick as I am, man!"
Adam rubbed the side of his head and looked at Matt. "Chill out, Matt," he said. Matt turned to him and said, "then fucking be serious!" Adam put his hand back on Matt's shoulder and said, "sorry, man, I was just having some fun with you. Forgiven?" Matt smiled at him. "Yeah, I guess so. Just stop kiddin' around about it. It ain't funny." Adam nodded solemnly. "Okay, let's see what we can come up with," he said. "When did these dreams start?"
Matt sat down on the bed and thought for a moment. He looked over at Adam, and wondered just how much he should tell him. He could feel Adam's eyes on him, and before he knew it, the words just spilled out of his mouth. "I started having them again a couple weeks ago," Matt said. "We had finished our match and came back to the dressing room. Jeff went to take a shower and I was sitting on the bench trying to wind down. A few minutes later he started yelling at me to bring him his shampoo, and when I walked in there to give it to him, he had his back to the water, and his head was leaning back. The light was pretty bright in there, and there was a rainbow over his freakin' head. He looked like an angel, standing there all innocent and shit. Then he opened his eyes and asked me if I was gonna stand there and stare at him all night or give him his shampoo. When I handed it to him, he looked down at his chest, and asked me if the bruise he had was really that bad. I told him it looked kinda nasty. He asked me if that was why I was staring at it, so I lied and said yes." Matt paused for moment. "I hadn't even noticed it until he pointed it out. After we got dressed, we went out to the parking lot to go to the hotel. We couldn't get the car to start." Adam nodded, remembering that night now. "Everyone else had left already, and we couldn't get anyone on the phone. I was about to call a cab when Jeff said we should walk back to the hotel, since it was only a couple blocks. It started raining as soon as we turned the corner. I was trying to hurry up and get out of the rain, but Jeff was out there, dancing in the street, spinning around like a little kid. I swear, every time he would stop under one of the streetlights, there would be that rainbow over his head." Adam chuckled. He could see Jeff just waving his hand in the air like a magic wand and having rainbows appear out of nowhere.
Matt stood up and started pacing again. "It was like magic watching him do that. I haven't seen him that happy in a long time. I wanted to dance with him, but I just stood there watching. The next day he woke up with a sore throat, and was sick the rest of the week." Matt's voice started trailing off as he finished his sentence. "That's where I got this from," Matt said, gesturing to his head. "I got his cold."
Adam smiled at him, thinking I wouldn't complain if Jeff gave me a cold. "Well, that's it," Adam said. "Jeff made you sick, so now you're having these dreams. That explains it all." Matt stopped to think about that for a moment. Suddenly, Adam realized something Matt had said earlier. "Wait," he said, causing Matt to turn and look at him. "What did you mean, you started having them again?" Damn, Matt thought, I was hoping he had missed that one.
Matt looked over at Adam and said, "I started having them a few years ago. Jeff was about 17 at the time, and he came home one night and caught me with Shane. He didn't say nothing about it at the time, but the next day he was asking all kinds of questions. Ya know, like how did it feel, did I like it, was it different than it was with a chick. I was used to him asking me shit about everything, cuz he'd done that his whole life. But, when I was trying to explain about that, it made me feel, I don't know, kinda weird. I could tell he was thinking about, and that thought kinda excited me, ya know? That night I had a dream about that conversation, but instead of telling him, I showed him."
"That's a long time to dream about something and not act on it," Adam said. Matt turned to look at him. "I couldn't act on it, man," Matt said. "He's my brother. And the last time I checked, there ain't a state in America that thinks incest is legal." Adam nodded. "True," he said to Matt. "But there are a lot of states where it's acceptable. Sort of. Besides, Jeff is hot. I can see where you would think about him like that sometimes." For one brief second, a look of jealousy flashed in Matt's eyes. He quickly recovered, then spoke again. "I told the shrink one time that I was having the dreams. I didn't tell him who they were about, though, just that I had been having them about someone I could never have. He told me that if it was really something I wanted, I would find a way to work around the obstacles I thought were in my way. I just told him that was impossible, and never talked about it again. You're the only other person who knows. So, you gonna tell me now what kind of sick pervert I am?" Adam looked over at Matt with a serious stare. He saw Matt's eyes widen in fear. Suddenly, Adam broke out in a grin. "Well, I would, but personally I'm impressed with your good taste! I mean, at least you aren't lusting over Drew or somebody gross like that." Matt chuckled, then wrinkled his nose in disgust. "Yuck! That ain't right, Adam," he said. Adam laughed. "Tell me about," Adam replied. "So, you don't think I'm a sicko backwoods redneck inbred pervert?" Matt asked. "No, Matt," Adam said, patting him on the shoulder, "I don't. I mean, I can't really say anything, cuz me and Jay are the closest thing to brothers you can find, and you know what we do." Matt nodded. "Yeah, but it's not exactly the same - you aren't blood related, just soul related," he said. The sound of voices from the other side of the door made Matt close his mouth before he said anything else. As Jeff and Jay burst through the door wearing the paper crowns they gave out to kids, their arms loaded down with bags of fast food, Adam leaned over and whispered in Matt's ear, "there is one good thing about Jeff, though." Matt looked at him with questioning eyes. "What's that?" he asked, trying to find the good in the situation, any good at all. As Jay threw a straw at Adam to get his attention, Adam said, "at least you don't have to worry about getting him pregnant!" Matt speared Adam onto the bed, causing the other men in the room to turn and look at them, shaking their heads at the older pair's strange behavior.
