1.

One inch at a time that is how you get closer to someone.

First night they had opposite ends of the couch, Viggo drinking a beer and Orlando a coke.

Second night Orlando was still in his corner, but an inch closer.

Third night he gained another inch; fourth night almost two.

Fifth night Viggo asked why Orlando was sitting so close, Orlando just smiled and conquered another inch.

Sixth night Viggo got the idea and said Orlando could always lay with his head in Viggo's lap since he was almost there anyway. Orlando smiled and called it a victory.

2.

lose on the couch is easy, close to ones heart is harder.

Every night Orlando had his head in Viggo's lap but he wanted more than a spot on Viggo's lap, he wanted a piece of his heart too.

So every day Orlando tried to endear Viggo to him, wearing his prettiest clothes and smiling his prettiest smiles. In return he got nothing but answering smiles and indulgent looks until he gave up.

That night Orlando didn't put his head in Viggo's lap he huddled in his corner and mourned the loss of a heart that would never be his.

3.

You never have your head in my lap anymore… Why is that?"

"No reason, just thought it was giving you a cramp."

"It wasn't."

"Okay."

Silence.

"What is the real reason for you not having your head in my lap anymore?"

"I thought it meant more than it really did… It was wrong for both of us."

"Meant more? Like what?"

"You know… I thought…hoped that it meant you had feelings for me."

"I have."

Oh."

They sat in silence watching the flickering images on the screen, after a while Orlando lay down and put his head in Viggo's lap.

That night when Orlando got up to leave Viggo caught his hand and pulled him back down.

"Stay."

"We got work tomorrow."

"I got a bed big enough for two, and the alarm will wake both of as well as it wakes just me."

Orlando stayed, and as he crawled into bed next to Viggo placing his head on Viggo's broad chest he knew that he had found home at last, but for how long? With warm arms wrapped around him and soft breath caressing his hair he wanted it to last forever, but would it? He had no answers.

5.

aking up in Viggo's arms was so much nicer than waking up in an empty bed, so nice that he for once woke up long before the alarm. He took advantage of that by cuddling closer and looking at Viggo, whose features were still softened in sleep. Viggo was such a handsome man and Orlando longed to kiss him but decided that he better wait until Viggo was awake.

"Viggo."

Shake.

"Uh…what?"

"Wake up."

"Why?"

"I want a kiss."

"And it couldn't wait an hour or two?"

"No."

Viggo smiled one of his special smiles. "A kiss it is then."

6.

Orlando literally shivered with excitement, licked his lips and stared at Viggo waiting for the older man to make the first move. Viggo's eyes were so terribly soft as he reached up and cupped Orlando's face that Orlando almost couldn't look at him.

"I've been wanting to do this for a long time," Viggo murmured before closing the distance between them and claiming Orlando's lips.

Orlando melted into the kiss that started out as a soft and slow exploration of lips but that soon developed into a heated dance of tongues. It was all he ever dreamed of, and more.

Warm, wet kisses.

"Work, we got to work."

"Mmm…"

Soft moans, writhing bodies.

"That's the third time the alarm goes off…"

Fumbling hands, heated flesh.

"That's the phone."

Naked. Finally.

"God, I love you."

"What?"

Orlando suddenly sat up and stared down at Viggo.

"You love me?"

Viggo smiled and ran a finger down Orlando's exposed chest.

"Yes, I do."

Orlando smiled back and caught Viggo's hand so that he could kiss it softly.

"Love you too."

Viggo pulled Orlando down on top of him and soon they were busy kissing again, all thoughts of work erased from their minds.

The End
