Jeff pulled his car into his driveway at full speed and slammed on the brakes narrowly stopping before plowing through the garage. Getting out he didn't even bother getting his bags from the trunk of his car instead climbing out and slamming the door behind him with as much force as he could muster. Feeling slightly better he stomped up the steps on the front porch of his home and after retrieving the front door key from the underside of the flower pot on this front window sill opened the front door. Walking though he slammed it as hard as he could and when it bounced right back open from the force he slammed it again and again repeatedly until he was afraid it was going to just fall off it's hinges.
Storming through the living room he stomped up the stairs to the upper level and slammed open the door to his bedroom so hard he was sure the doorknob had put a hole in the wall. Looking around his room he seethed. Slowly he let his eyes drift from one picture to the next letting the anger consuming him eat at him until he thought it would simply eat him alive.
Scattered over the walls of his room were pictures. All of them men… all older than himself. All people he'd loved… and eventually lost. All people that he'd played bitch for. "NO MORE!" He screamed at the top of his lungs. "DO YOU FUCKING HEAR ME? NO FUCKING MORE!" Wanting rid of the offensive pieces of trash Jeff stormed around his bed and flung open the bedroom window and picking up the nearest picture didn't even pause to look at it before he threw it out the window.
"Jeffy?" A timid voice called and not even bothering to turn Jeff reached for the next picture and threw it out the window as well. "Whatcha doin?"
"I'M FUCKING DONE!! DO YOU HEAR ME? I AM MOTHERFUCKING DONE PLAYING THEIR GODDAMN DISPOSABLE BOY TOY!!" Jeff raged and picked Matt's picture off the wall and threw it out the window that Bobby Higgins and Tommy Picardi had flown not moment's before.
"Ok," Shannon said from the doorway afraid to enter for fear that Jeff would try to throw HIM out the window too. "Why are you throwing all your pictures out the window? And do you realize that you just threw out Matty?"
"I am throwing the worthless motherfuckers out because I AM DON!E!" Jeff screamed and Shannon nodded slowly behind him.
"Yeah So I heard. Something about not being their bitch boy. But why are you throwing your pictures out the window? You told me that they were all a part of your heart and you always wanted to have them near you so you wouldn't forget them and lose a part of your heart."
"I DON'T FUCKING WANT THEM IN MY GODDAMN HEART ANYMORE!!" Jeff screamed and picking Shane Helm's picture off the wall threw him out after Matt. Jeff looked out the window momentarily and grunted with satisfaction when he saw that Shane's picture had fallen directly on top of Matt's. "How fucking appropriate!"
Deciding that he better be brave or else Jeffy may lose his mind Shannon entered and before Jeff could get his hands on another picture Shannon stepped between him and the offensive image. His big green eyes wide with fear and seeing the window still open and so close eyes it swallowing heavily.
"GET OUT OF MY WAY!" Jeff screamed and finding courage he didn't know he had Shannon shook his head no.
"Not 'til you tell me what is going on Jeffy."
"I FUCKING TOLD YOU…" Jeff started, but Shannon put a hand over his mouth.
"A deaf man could hear your WORDS Jeffy, I want to know MORE! What happened? Did things with Shawn not work out?"
Seething Jeff looked at Shannon. "According to the Heartbreak Kid, while I may be cute and have a healthy tolerance for pain I can't compare to The Game. YES I GOT DUMPED AND I AM THROUGH BEING…"
"I know I know…" Shannon said holding up a hand. "You are through being a bitch boy. I got it the first time. Why are you throwing your heart pictures out the window?"
"Because my heart is too fucking crowded!!" Jeff growled. "I am getting rid of the trash!!" Swinging his arm around in a circle and almost knocking Shannon out in the process Jeff stormed, "AND ALL THESE MOTHERFUCKERS ARE TRASH!!"
Rubbing the side of his face Shannon picked himself up off the floor where Jeff had accidentally knocked him to and said, "closure."
"What?" Jeff asked dumbly looking at Shannon as if seeing him for the first time.
"Closure," Shannon repeated then studying the wall picked off a picture of some Omega guy that he couldn't remember the name of and handed it to Jeff. "You are getting closure. Here I think you threw Shane out prematurely. If you are going for the order in which you fucked them you should have thrown this doofus out first."
Jeff looked at the picture trying to remember the guys name then shrugged and tossed him out the window. "I think you're right." For the next half hour the two worked in mostly silence. Shannon would pick a picture off the wall as he seemed to be able to remember the order better than Jeff could then handed the image to Jeff who would throw the offensive man out the window.
Jeff looked out the window and grunted happily seeing the pile under the window growing nicely. Hearing Shannon giggling he snapped his head back inside banging it on the window in the process. "Whatchou gigglin about?"
Shannon picked a picture of Scott Hall off the wall and held it up. "Your first big time fuck! I remember when you called me after that night! You said you'd hit the big time!" Jeff grunted trying to hide his twitching lips, but couldn't stop the smile that came. "Yeah just turned out to be a greasy assed Cuban!"
"His ASS is greasy?!" Shannon asked giggling again handing Scott's picture to Jeff who grinned huge looking at the image. "And hairy! This guy has hair EVERYWHERE!!"
Shannon giggled as he watched Jeff toss the image out the window. Again silence fell over the room until again Shannon giggled again studying a picture. "Who you got this time?" Jeff asked and smiled when Shannon turned around an old picture of RVD. "I remember how amazed you were when you told me about bein' with Rob the first time. Who know someone could FUCK in that position!"
Jeff grinned and shook his head as Shannon tossed him the picture. Looking down at Rob Jeff shook his head again. "Yeah I learned some REALLY great positions from him," Jeff said then tossed him out the window making Shannon giggle again. After Rob the giggles and the stories came more frequently. Billy Gunn, Road Doggie, Terry Funk, The Godfather, even Farooq's pictures all went flying out the bedroom window. All getting a giggle and a story from Shannon.
"I still can't believe you fucked this guy," Shannon laughed and Jeff turned to see Pat Patterson's picture looking at him. Wrinkling his nose Jeff squirmed and almost missed catching the picture as it came flying across the room. "Hey look I was high and he seemed like a nice guy."
"It took you almost an HOUR to get him UP!" Shannon protested and almost fell he was laughing so hard. Jeff tried to look offended but couldn't help from laughing himself. "Ok I made some shitty choices can we just move on here."
Straightening Shannon nodded and remembering where they were in the lifeline of Jeff's sex life grinned. "It's time for your dark phase," he grinned and grabbed Mideon off the wall tossing him to Jeff who made a face. "I think he was worse than Pat!" Jeff joked sending Shannon into giggles again. "Edge, Gangrel, Bradshaw, Triple H, even the Deadman himself flew out the window with giggles and more stories.
"Remember when you fucked Glenn!?" Shannon giggled turning Kane's picture around. Jeff shivered and caught the picture looking down at it. "I thought Mark was gonna KILL me! I mean how was I suppose to know Glenn was HIS PRIVATE PROPERTY?"
Shannon laughed and nodded. "I really thought you were gonna die that night. I don't think I've ever heard you more scared than when you called me and said you were hiding in the closet of Doggie's room cause you thought Mark was gonna kill you!"
Jeff looked rueful as he tossed Glenn out the window. Big Show, Stone Cold, The Rock, Chris Jericho all flew out the window. Sean O'Haire, Chuck Palumbo, Chris Kanyon, Diamond Dallas Page followed closely behind. After them came, Shane McMahon with a question from Shannon, "How come it took you so long to fuck Simba?"
Catching the picture Jeff sighed. "Apparently I wasn't high enough on the roster for a McMahon." Jeff enjoyed throwing Shane outside.
Scott Hall, X-Pac, Justin Credible all went. The Game went out again and Shannon asked, "How damn many times did you take this moron BACK?"
"He kept insisting things would be different!" Jeff insisted catching the image and tossing it out. Behind The Game went Matt AGAIN, then Shannon picked off a picture of Bryan Clark and Brian Adams together. "You know I had such high hopes for you here," Shannon said as he showed Jeff Kronik's picture. "Maybe if they hadn't gotten fired…"
I doubt it," Jeff said taking the picture and tossing them out the window.
X Pac again and Kevin Nash were thrown out and looking around Jeff saw the walls were finally bare. "WAIT!" Shannon yelled then rushed from the room as Jeff stood staring after him curiously. When Shannon came back in carrying a present Jeff raised an eyebrow. "Open it!" Shannon squealed and Jeff tore off the paper to see the Shawn Michaels The Heartbreak Kid starting back at him. His blue eyes twinkling and his trademark cocky grin in place.
"I thought it was right this time," Jeff said softly and Shannon sighed. "I know Jeffy." Taking a deep breath Jeff tossed HBK out then with determination closed the window and locked it.
Moving around Shannon he went to the middle of his room and looked around at his empty walls. His heart felt sad and somehow empty as he realized that for the first time in forever it was empty. He was all alone…. With one exception.
Looking up he saw Shannon watching him from his spot by the window. The afternoon sunlight was shining though creating this halo effect around Shannon's head. Looking around at the empty walls Jeff realized Shannon had remembered everyone of them and in the order he'd been with them. He would bet money that his friend remembered more about them men he'd been with than Jeff did.
"You remembered them all," Jeff said softly and Shannon shrugged.
"Of course I did Jeffy. S'my job."
Looking at Shannon Jeff frowned realizing for the first time that Shannon was in his home. "What are you doing here? Shouldn't you just be leaving from where ever Smackdown was last night?"
Shannon blushed and shrugged then looked down at his feet. "Jus' had a feeling s'all. Somefin told me you would need me."
"You came home after Smackdown without any rest because of a FEELING that I MIGHT need you?"
Shannon cocked his head to one side confused then shrugged. "Course Jeffy s'my job."
Staring at his friend in shock Jeff realized Shannon was right. Every time since the DAY they'd met Shannon had been there. After every heartbreak and during every middle of the night call while he was in hysterics Shannon had been there.
Slowly Jeff moved towards Shannon who for some reason kept backing away. Until the younger man's back was pinned against a wall. "Why are you backin' up?" Jeff asked softly as he studied Shannon's face as if seeing him for the first time in a long long time.
"I'm the only one left," Shannon said softly. "I's afraid that you'd throw me out the window too."
Jeff's breath caught as reality hit him in the stomach like a fist. "I could never throw you out," Jeff whispered then leaned forward until his lips were just barely touching Shannon's. "You're the only one of 'em that I ever really loved," Jeff sighed and shivered as Shannon's arms wrapped around his neck.
Jeff had been kissed by A LOT of men as the pile under his window could attest, but never had a kiss felt so… complete. Sure there had been more passionate… some more hot… some more romantic, but never so… right. Never had some just FELT like he was exactly where he belonged.
Pulling his head back Jeff looked at Shannon stunned. "I knew you'd get around to me," Shannon whispered. "I knew if I waited that you'd run out of choices and you'd have to get around to me. God Jeffy I've loved you forever!"
"I don't wanna fuck this up," Jeff whispered afraid suddenly.
Shannon nodded and pushed Jeff away until his friend took at step back. "Then let's not do this now. Let's not hop right into bed. Let's do this right."
Jeff grinned happy for the first time in what seemed to be years. "What do you have in mind?"
"Dinner, maybe a movie?" Shannon suggested. "That new Mel Gibson movie Signs is playing… I hear it's REALLY scary!"
"You hate scary movies," Jeff laughed as Shannon blushed again.
"Not if you're there to protect me from the bag things," Shannon whispered and Jeff again was thrown for a loop. What a foreign concept. HIM protecting someone else. Him being the leader… the protector… the guide.
"Maybe we can go for a walk on the beach tonight after dark?" Jeff suggested raising a hand to caress Shannon's cheek.
"Will you bring your guitar and sing to me?" Shannon asked his eyes sparkling with hope.
"Anything you want," Jeff whispered and pulled Shannon in for a hug knowing he'd FINALLY found the man who would be by his side for the rest of his life… and all along he'd been right under his nose. "Anything you want, Shann."
