Prologue

Scott Hall sat in his chair rubbing his temple because of a headache that had Kliq written all over it. He sat watching Sean and PJ standing together fighting with Paul who was seated in another chair shouting back at them. Scott by this point had no idea what they were fighting about. Shawn ever the Kliq's peacemaker was standing between the two sides. He'd started out trying to calm everyone down but now seemed to be just yelling at everyone. Mike never had been the most patient man in the world.

Sitting on the arm of Paul's chair was his younger sister Mechelle and across the room staring at a wall was Kevin their fearless leader who didn't even seem to be aware that there was an argument going on. Scott glanced at Kevin then looked away with an expression of disgust. Kevin had ended their 10+ year relationship about two months ago and ever since didn't seem to be interested in much of anything too caught up in his own little world to pay attention to those he was supposed to be leading.

When Scott felt a hand in his hair he turned his head to see Mechelle sitting now on the arm of his chair looking at him with an obviously worried expression on his face. Scott knew he should tell her that everything was ok, but somehow he didn't have the strength. Scott knew that things weren't ok and didn't think that they would ever be ok again. "Scotty let's go outside, huh?" She asked softly and quickly he agreed that he needed to be away from this mess.

Standing she took his hand and pulled him up then out of the chair before leading him from the room. As they left four pair of eyes followed them even if their arguing didn't stop. One rather sad pair of green eyes didn't move from its intense study of the pain job in Mike's living room. But then after over 10 years you didn't need to look to feel the absence of someone that you love.

Mechelle led Scott through the house and out the back where she shivered as the cool Texas night air hit her bare arms. "Where's your jacket, Sis?" Scott asked as he wrapped his big arms around the woman that couldn't have been more of a little sister if they'd shared parents.

"Not in Texas," she said sighing. "I thought Texas was hot."

Scott chuckled. "It is, but not at 8 PM in October."

Mechelle snorted then turned in Scott's arms to look up at one of her favorites of Paul's friends. The stress he was under was apparent on his face and she could practically see all the extra weight he was carrying on his shoulders these days. "I worry about you big brother."

"It'll be ok," Scott said not really feeling his own comfort words.

"I am sure you will… eventually," she agreed, "but not if you don't take a break from all this shit. You need to go somewhere and take some time for yourself."

"Well, I did get an offer to wrestle," Scott started hesitantly.

"Where at?" She asked happily. "No, it doesn't matter take it!"

"It's in Japan," Scott replied chewing on his bottom lip.

"Perfect!" She exclaimed happily. "Japan is MUCH to far for these jokers to follow you. Take it!"

"I dunno," Scott said unsure. "I don't know if I can be alone for that long."

"You can do this Scotty," Mechelle said confidently. "You NEED to take some time off to find yourself again."

"What if I fail?" Scott asked worried. "Who will be there?"

"Just because we won't be physically by your side doesn't mean that we won't be there if you need us," Mechelle chided softly. "Take it Scotty."

"Will you take me to the airport?" He asked not believing he'd let her talk him into this.

"And pick you up when you get back," She assured happily. Nodding Scott looked at the night sky and hoped that in a year she still remembered him to wanna be there when he got back.
