Song is Behind Blue Eyes by Limp Bizkit
no one knows what it's like
to be the bad man
to be the sad man
behind blue eyes
and no one knows
what it's like to be hated
to be faded to telling only lies
"Blue isn't just a color man," Dave heard his lover say in his ear and sighed heavily hanging his head. How do you tell the man who loved you more than life that you don't love him anymore? The fact that Sean already knew it didn't seem to be making things any easier. "Sean," He started wanting to at least attempt some defense that would spare his friend's feelings, but was cut off before he could really begin. "Stop Dave please. Look I ain't gonna tell you it don't hurt like hell to know that you're already gone and there ain't nothin' I can do to stop you, but damnit you and I were friends long before we were lovers. I ain't like some of these other guys. I don't just screw anyone and you know that too. So my biggest concern out of all this is that I don't lose my buddy."
Dave nodded sniffling then chuckled softly through his tears. "You goin soft on me or is there someone workin their magic on you?" When silence was his only answer Dave grinned big. "I would ask you who, but I know you're still in denial so I won't ask, but he better treat you good or I'll kill him." Sean nodded slowly thinking about what made him pick up the phone to begin with. "You mean unlike Randy who's leadin' you around like a fuckin' puppy dog while he chases Paul's tail?"
Dave growled softly at the disparaging comments towards his heart's desire. "He ain't doin' nothin, Sean, so don't go there! It ain't his fuckin' fault. He don't even know I like him. He thinks we're just buddies. You know damn fuckin' well that Paul is playin' him for a fool leadin' him around like a dog on a leash whispering lies in his ear to keep him in line. That boy is so in love with Paul he can't fuckin' see straight!"
Sean sighed sadly wishing he could see something other than pain in his friend's future. "So just what makes you think that he's gonna suddenly fall for you, Levie." Dave winced at the use of his pet name in combination with such a harsh bit of reality. "I don't expect Randy to love me overnight. All I want is a chance to prove to him that I can take care of him and be good to him and treat him like he deserves!"
Dave looked up when the door to the Evolution dressing room opened and a sobbing Randy ran in. "Gotta go," Dave said hastily and ended his call before Sean could so much as say goodbye. Randy threw himself down onto the couch next to Dave and the larger man couldn't resist the urge to touch the man he loved. Slowly he raised his hand and rubbed Randy's back gently. "Hey, what's the matter, kid." Instead of answering Randy turned throwing himself into Dave's arms still sobbing forcing Dave to wrap them around him… not that he minded.
Closing his eyes Dave tightened his hold on Randy starting to rub his back again as the younger man sobbed on his shoulder. "He… he… he brought HER HERE! She's hangin' all over him! He… he… he sent Shawn to tell me to… to… to meet him in he.. here later cau… cause she won't stay all show. He… I'M A WHOOOOOOOOOOOORE!" Dave closed his eyes trying to contain his anger. This wasn't the time or the place for retribution. All he needed to be concentrating on right now was Randy.
"Kid, listen to me," Dave said pulling back reluctantly and forcing Randy to look at him, but before he could continue he was interrupted by a sneer. "Well isn't this just fucking cozy," Paul growled and the two men whipped their heads around shocked as neither of them had heard him enter. "Here I was feelin' bad about Steph comin' knowing that it would hurt the man I LOVE and come to find out he's SCREWIN' AROUND behind my BACK with someone I THOUGHT was my FRIEND! I gave you a fuckin' chance BATISTA that EVERY GUY in this fuckin locker room wanted! You are where you are at with this company because of ME! And to repay my KINDNESS you try and steal my BOYFRIEND!"
Randy paled and shook his head rapidly rushing to Paul clinging to his arm. "NO! PAULY NO I swear you got it wrong! I ain't fuckin' him I swear! We're just friends! Tell him Dave!" Randy turned to Dave with pleading eyes, but Dave was only focused on Paul's sneering face. Paul and he both knew that he wasn't fuckin' Randy just like they both obviously knew that he was head over heals for the younger man and being the bastard he was Paul was going to make sure that he didn't stand a cold chance in hell of getting him. "Yes Dave, tell me. Tell Randy and I both that you aren't fucking. Tell us both that you don't love him, that you are nothing more than friends. Tell us that you aren't just DYING to stick your cock inside of Randy. Please DAVE tell me... tell US!"
Dave knew what he should say. He knew that the smartest thing would be to tell Paul what Randy wanted him to and worry about the consequences later, but somewhere in the back of his head… somewhere in the deep recesses of his heart where he tried to shove the things he didn't want to deal with… something thought honesty would be the best route. "We ain't fucking," Dave said quietly, "but I can't say that I don't love him and you know it Paul." Dave didn't know what was worse Paul's cocky grin of triumph or Randy's gasp of horror before he turned back to Paul.
"Pauly, I SWEAR I don't want anything to do with him! I SWEAR! I ain't done nothing! I love you! I want to be with YOU! Please, Pauly I'll do anything just tell me what I gotta do!" Paul studied Randy then smiled softly making Dave wanna vomit right then and there. "Tell ya what baby. I believe you. I know that you could never fall for a wanna-be like Batista when you got a real superstar all to yourself. When Stephie leaves later you meet me here and we'll uhh DISCUSS how you can make this all up to me."
Paul kissed Randy on the forehead then turned and left the room strutting arrogantly knowing that he had everyone right where he wanted them. As Dave's focus was on Paul's back he didn't see Randy as he practically flew across the room angrily landing on Dave and sending the couch backwards. Not wanting to fight Randy Dave did his best not to hit him and rolled the two of them around until Randy was pinned underneath him. Unfortunately by then Randy had gotten in more than one good punch and Dave's temper had been firmly activated.
"ENOUGH! You want me to apologize for loving you, ya little bitch, well it ain't gonna happen! I AM sorry though that you are so damn foolish that you think for one second that PAUL LEVESQUE loves YOU! He don't love you OR Stephanie. All he loves is HIMSELF! So you just keep your happy ass here like the little lap dog that he treats you like and let him TREAT you like the whore he accused you of being! But while you're waiting like the good little bitch think about three things…. ONE he had manipulated the situation so that he has EXACTLY what he wants… you fucking him later like some street walker that he's ashamed of! Something that YOU RAN IN HERE BAWLING ABOUT not 10 minutes ago! Second, maybe you should ask yourself what exactly it is he does with SHAWN in that hotel room with Stephanie and if you think they are doing ANYTHING but fucking you better think again! THEN when you're little baby brain has worked THAT out why don't finish up by asking yourself why he can fuck HBK in front of his new WIFE and not YOU!"
"Now if you don't mind I am gonna go find a quiet spot and try and figure out how I went from a wonderful relationship with a man that loves me to being alone and crazy in the head for a beautiful talented man who could give a fuck if I live or die." With that Dave stomped out of the room leaving a stunned Randy behind. Unfortunately for him his night didn't get any better and by the time he got back to his hotel room the show had been over for hours and he didn't have any more answers than he had earlier. The bottle he'd tried to consume hadn't given him the results he wanted and now all he wanted was to crawl under his covers and pretend that he was a nice quiet postman.
He heard the sounds within his room before he even opened the door and groaned. He almost turned to go get another room, but something stopped him… probably the sound of Randy crying hysterically again. Opening the door and walking in he was slightly confused to find Randy sitting on the end of a bed bawling and rubbing his wrists, Mark Jindrak sitting on the other bed looking like someone beat the crap out of him and Maven running between the two acting like the good little mommy that Al had taught him to be.
Dave shook his fuzzy head and hoped that by some miracle they would just suddenly disappear. It didn't work out like that though. Maven noticed Dave's presence and looking relieved ran to the older man. "DAVE DAVE DAVE! I'm so glad you're here! I don't know what to do!" Sighing Dave held up his hands. "First off you need to relax and second off you need to tell me why Randy is bawling again and who beat the crap out of Mark."
Taking a deep breath Maven nodded and began to answer Dave who soon wished that he hadn't. "Well… Umm to answer the second part first Randy beat up Mark then got arrested. So we had to get him outta jail." Frowning Dave looked at Maven thinking the young pup had gotten confused. "Why would Randy beat up Mark? They are best friends."
Fidgeting Maven looked around before responding. "Well umm see he was drunk and thought that Mark was Paul." Closing his eyes Dave felt his anger rising again as he asked the next seemingly obvious question. "And why would Randy want to beat up Paul?" Maven chewed on his lip hesitating, but when Dave's angry eyes opened pinning him in place Maven gulped and answered. "Cause Paul told him that he was married now and so they couldn't see each other anymore. He said that he was treating his marriage vows with the seriousness that they deserved. So Randy ran out and we was gonna leave, but then he realized that he forgot his bag so… umm… he went back to get it and caught Paul and Shawn fuckin. While we was eatin' Paul called him an told him that he thought it would be a good idea if Randy took three or four months off to clear his head and if he even thought about telling Stephanie what he saw that his vacation would be permanent."
Randy opened his eyes now red and swollen looking at Dave. "What am I gonna do Dave?" Taking a deep breath Dave wasn't quite sure, but knew who would know what to do. Taking out his cell phone he dialed Sean's number only hoping that he meant it when he said he wanted to still be friends.
but my dreams they aren't as empty
as my conscious seems to be
i have hours, only lonely
my love is vengeance
that's never free
Sean hung up his cell phone and leaned his head back against the wall behind him closing his eyes wishing that the pain in his heart would just go away. He wished that he could be cold and unfeeling. He knew what he had to do. Paul Levesque was an evil son of a bitch that used the backstage as his personal romper room. The breaking of a heart by The Game was a ritual that seemingly every green pup had to go through. He ran through them like they were his personal playmates discarding them when they ceased to amuse him.
Hearing the bedsprings bounce on the bed next to him he saw his travel mate bouncing on the bed and had to smile softly, but the moment was short lived as his thoughts turned back to Paul. Rumor had it that Paul had his eye set on a new youngster. Someone that reminded him greatly of his precious Shawny and trained by the Hardy Boys, Sean was damned if he was going to let Paul get his slimy paws on Shanny. He was the one thing left in his life that was untainted by pain and deceit.
Paul had already indirectly taken his lover from him and added poor Randy to his list of broken hearts. He'd chased Jeff away from the WWE making Shanny sad and managed to shove Sean so far down the roster that he could look up and see Tommy Dreamer's ass. The only way he was getting his hands on Shanny was over Sean's dead body… and that wasn't likely to happen. He just hoped that saving Shanny didn't steal what little was left of his soul.
no one knows what its like
to feel these feelings
like i do, and i blame you!
no one bites back as hard
on their anger
none of my pain woe
can show through
Randy stood looking into Paul's condescending eyes and knew what was going through his mind. It was amazing what a difference 24 hours could make. The day before he'd felt like his life was ending. The man he loved had moved on and left him behind without so much as a second thought bringing his fragile existence crashing down into a million pieces. He'd been so desperate to find a way to keep that love he thought he felt that he would have been willing to do just about anything Paul had asked.
Now though he felt as if a weight had been lifted him his shoulders. His heart still hurt and probably would for a long time, but he had somehow stumbled blindly into the promise of a relationship with a man that would treat him like a prince. Somewhere in the back of his mind it occurred to him that in gaining this promise he had potentially robbed someone else of their own dream, but he wasn't going to allow himself to think about that right then. Dave assured him that Sean was cool with what had gone down even alluding to the possibility of a new relationship with some mystery man for Sean as well. So Randy was going to pretend that everything was ok.
Now as he looked at this man that yesterday he thought he had loved more than his own life he felt something much colder and sinister running through his veins. Today he wanted payback, and payback was what Sean and Dave had promised him. All he had to do was knock out Paul so that they could get him to Sean's place. That was his only assignment, but if he didn't come through then their whole plan would be in jeopardy.
Luckily he knew Paul's weakness… the one thing that the health nut couldn't resist. Holding up a bag of powdered doughnut holes Randy smiled sweetly. "I just wanted to apologize for the way I acted and I hope that you'll forgive me in time. I'm going to take that time like you suggested and I just hope that when I come back I can find a way to earn your trust and faith back."
Nodding arrogantly Paul eyed the bag snatching it out of Randy's hand before eyeing the young man again. "Well we'll just see. You run off now. I have things to do." Paul then slammed the door in Randy's face, but the younger man didn't mind. An hour later he used the key that he had bribed out of the front desk clerk and got into the hotel room grinning happily. Slumped over on the bed was Paul, snoring none too softly. Bouncing, Randy took his cell phone out of his pocket and dialed Dave's number so that he could tell his new lover that he had accomplished his task.
but my dreams they aren't as empty
as my conscious seems to be
i have hours, only lonely
my love is vengeance
that's never free
Paul opened his eyes and shook his head trying to clear the fog from his mind. Still fuzzy from the drugs he tried to lower his arms and frowned when he realized that he couldn't move them. Looking around he realized he wasn't in his hotel room anymore and that his arms were extended out straight and slightly upwards attached to the ceiling by ropes. Looking down he saw that his legs were attached to a cinderblock by thick heavy chains allowing him only inches of movement. "What's wrong Pauly can't move?"
Squinting he looked up just barely making out a person in the bright glare of the daylight behind him. Someone walked in behind the first person and he heard heavy doors being rolled shut blocking out the daylight. "Randy?" Paul shook his head again sure that whatever he had been given was playing games with his mind as he knew Randy very well and knew that his last bitch didn't have the balls to pull off something like this. "I don't know who has gotten into your head, but you better fucking let me loose now before this goes any further and MAYBE you'll work again sometime before the end of the century."
Randy came forward stopping within 5 foot of Paul wearing a look of confidence and cockiness that he'd never seen there before. "I don't think I gotta worry about your threats Paul. I think that you have threatened me for the last time." Paul growled trying to free his arms and was angry when it didn't work. "You listen to me you little bitch. You are in deep shit here. You won't be able to hold me forever and when I get out of here you are gonna be the first person I come after. Whoever got into your head is sailing you down a really bad course 'cause the only thing in your future now is a shipwreck and I am gonna be the man to sink your lousy ass to the bottom of the ocean."
"You know I did you a FAVOR bitch! Without me your ass would be floundering at the bottom of the fucking roster wrestling nobody's like Tommy Dreamer and Stevie Richards, but I took you under my wing and got you to where you are now. I could have picked anyone! People were BEGGING me for that spot. But I took a chance and I gave you the opportunity. YOU OWE ME! Now let me out of here before I kick your fucking ass from here to next week! I am gonna be your fucking worst nightmare you talentless good for nothing piece of SHIT!"
discover l.i.m.p. say it
no one knows what its like
to be mistreated, to be defeated
behind blue eyes
no one know how to say
that they're sorry and don't worry
i'm not telling lies
Randy's jaw worked as he let Paul's words soak into every pore of his being. He felt a hand on his shoulder, but just before the person behind him could speak he crossed the remaining distance between himself and Paul standing nose to nose with the man he once called mentor and lover. "No, PAUL, you listen to ME! I am a THIRD GENERATION WRESTLER! I don't need YOU to get me anywhere in this business. I knew more about this place the DAY I WAS BORN than you will the day you die. I know exactly how to get myself anywhere and if you think for ONE SECOND that I didn't have your number the first time I laid eyes on you then you're sadly mistaken. I knew exactly what you were… my one way ticket to the top! All I had to do was suck your cock and let you pound my ass and before I knew it I would be at the top of the world. Then all I had to do was shove you off when you weren't looking!"
"You think you played me? You think that you MEAN SOMETHING TO ME? GIVE ME A BREAK! I ain't some dumb kid that knows nothing about scum like you. I seen a million of you backstage workin green kids, breakin' their hearts and destroyin' their ambition just so that they can hold onto something that they THINK they still got. Well ain't NOBODY destroyin' nothing of mine! The only person getting destroyed around here today is YOU!"
Reaching behind him Randy grabbed the ornamental dagger from the waste band of the man behind him and before he could be stopped sank it into Paul's gut.
but my dreams they aren't as empty
as my conscious seems to be
i have hours, only lonely
my love is vengeance
that's never free
Sean chuckled softly moving Randy out of the way then turned to study the now bleeding naked Paul. "Well now Paul I think you got a problem. There's a hole in your gut man." Pulling out the dagger Sean watched Paul trying to growl at him. "Let me out of here O'Haire," Paul growled, but Sean just laughed. Bending over he grabbed a handful of dirt and sawdust off the barn floor and rubbed it onto the wound. "We can't have ya bleedin' to death Paul… least not before I am done anyway." Sean grabbed more dirt and sawdust and shoved it in the wound sticking his fingers inside Paul laughing evilly as the man screamed with pain. "Hurts a little more than a torn muscle huh buddy?"
Sean sent a fist crashing into the wound smiling happily at the crunching sounds that accompanied it. Paul spat blood and glared at Sean hotly. "You are one sick motherfucker O'Haire. You're gonna be added right after Randy on my list of people to get when this is all over." Sean just shook his head. "You know Paul that should be as obvious as the nose on your face." Lifting the very sharp dagger with one hand and grabbing the very tip of Paul's nose with the other hand, Sean sliced off the offending object with one clean stroke. "I mean look at this fucker, Paul. It's HUGE!" Paul screamed as Sean hung his nose in front of his face then tossed it to Randy. "There ya go baby. Keep it as a souvenir."
Sean watched Paul crying and gasping for air through his mouth at the same time and shook his head. "You are such a disappointment Paul. I really was hoping that you would be more fun, but you just aren't doing it for me. I really should have known though… guys like you usually aren't. No tolerance for pain ya know." Handing the dagger back to Randy, Sean walked over to a table picking up a Volkoth Battle Axe. "You know Paul I love this piece. I have some very pretty looking weapons in my home, but this isn't one of them. This looks exactly like it should, menacing and deadly. There is nothing soft and cuddly about this thing. It can cut through bones, flesh and muscle all at the same time given that the person using it has the appropriate ability to use the proper force needed.
Sean walked back to Paul smiling darkly. "You know Paul you aren't gonna be holding back Randy or anyone else I'm afraid and your days of running through the new talent like they are your private play ground is… well… over. I'm not here to take your soul Paul. Someone else already did that. I'm just gonna send the rest of you to him." Lifting the battle axe Sean shoved it into Paul's groin lifting it upward with all his might slicing him open from groin to chin. Stepping back to survey his work Sean grunted not satisfied yet. Stepping forward once again he lifted Paul's head by his hair and grabbing the axe like a dagger shoved it through Paul's throat severing it from his body. "Now I'm satisfied."
Turning he looked at Randy watching him wide eyed with a look somewhere between awe and horror on his face. "Don't worry kid," Sean said sighing. "Ain't no one ever gonna find him. No matter what anyone says or who asks just remember that you have no clue where he is." Randy nodded and turned to leave in a half walk half run as Sean stopped him. "Oh kid, one more thing."
Randy turned looking more than a little eager to get away from Sean and bounced in place. "You better do right by Dave. If I EVER find out that you're usin' him to further yourself or are with him for ANY reason other than love…" Sean lifted Paul's severed head once more for Randy to see. "You're gonna be joining your ex here." Randy's eyes got big as he nodded fast. " Didn't mean it! I… I… I swear Sean. I didn't mean it! I didn't know he was using me! I swear I thought he loved me I swear! I swear! I swear!" Sean nodded slowly. "I know ya did kid, but you just remember what I said. I am a man without a conscience and I won't hesitate to dish out what I feel is an appropriate punishment. I already lost most of my soul… I ain't gonna miss what little is left."
Randy paled and turning ran out not waiting to see if Sean was done with him. Turning his head Sean looked at Paul's face sighing. "Well Paul, I think that this time it really is Game Over! Ya shouldn't of tried to dance with the devil. You just ain't bastard enough."
no one knows what its like
to be the bad man, to be the sad man
behind blue eyes.
Several weeks later Randy sat on Dave's lap looking around Dave's living room at all his friends. Joining them was not only Sean, but Shannon Moore, Mark Jindrak, Maven, Shane Helms, Jason Resso, and Chris Jericho. Randy watched as Sean moved slowly towards the patio doors leading out onto the darkened outside. "Davey, do you think Sean will ever be happy again?" Randy asked softly and Dave turned his head just in time to see Sean disappear out into the darkness. "Eventually," Dave replied sighing, "but it may take awhile. Killing a man, even one as deserving as Paul, takes a lot out of you." Randy nodded thinking quietly to himself before speaking again. "Sean says he has no conscience left. Do you think that's true Davey?"
Dave watched as Shannon looked around as if someone was missing then spotting the open patio doors slipped out after Sean and Dave sighed relieved. "I think that a man without a conscience wouldn't lose a wink of sleep over killing Paul let alone feet bad about it. So I think Sean has more conscience than he wants to admit. I think that the real man without the conscience was Paul Levesque and I think that Sean did the world a favor ridding us of him. And for that I just hope that Shannon can help him find some peace." Randy nodded agreeing and rested his head on Dave's shoulder pushing Paul out of his mind hopefully for once and for all.
The End!
