Lance sat quietly watching two of the new guys joke around with Hardy and Christopher. He noticed Christopher was smirking at him and sent a glare in return then stood leaving the room hoping he didn't look like he was fleeing. However the mocking laughter from Christopher that followed him out of the room and down the hallway told him otherwise. Lance found himself grumbling at the arrogant bald man under his breath, but easily shifted his thoughts back to his earlier musing.

Shannon he knew somewhat. He'd been around for the last couple of months hanging out and talkin to his friends and Dixie. He seemed to like an ok guy, a little on the odd side, but then what did one expect from someone who was best friends with Jeff Hardy. You had to have your own fair amount of uniqueness just to keep from getting lost in the long shadow Jeff cast. With his Mohawk and multiple tattoos he hadn't really caught Lance's eye as anything more than a possibly form of entertainment during the long and sometimes boring backstage hours.

The other one though… Jason Reso… Christian Cage… Captain Charisma… whatever you wanted to call him Lance had been hooked the second he laid eyes on the beautiful blonde first hand. His tall lean yet muscular build, easy smile and enchanting eyes left Lance breathless and begging for more. He was somehow already obsessed with finding out more about him, but the problem was that generally speaking Lance was a longer thus leaving him without a source for information about this beauty.

Lance'd never easily made friends and wasn't sure anyone he knew would have the information he needed. Finding an isolated spot Lance sat leaning his head back against the hard concrete wall letting his mind wander on his newest dream man. He couldn't help wondering what the ring was for on his hand. Was he married? Was he committed to someone? Was he even gay or was he one of those unattainable straight guys?

Was the body under all those pretty clothes as appealing as Lance imagined that tit would be? What did his kiss taste line? What would his touch feel like? Was he fast and hard or slow and easy when he had you between the sheets? Or did he fall somewhere in between? Maybe he was one of those guys that shifted his technique depending on his mood. Was he kinky? Maybe he liked being beat or tied up.

What would it sound like when he came? Was he a crier or a screamer? Did he make tiny noises or no sound at all? Would he leave bite marks on your neck and scratches on your chest? Or would he leave absolutely no sign at all that he'd been there?

There were so many questions with no answers in sight. The only thing he had to soothe his curiosity were his won fantasies, which only left him hard and aching for release. Hoping that no one had come upon him, Lance freed himself from his restricting jeans and lost himself in his mind calling Jay's name as he exploded.

If he'd only opened his eyes he would have seen that he in fact hadn't been alone while he was dreaming after all.

Jay wandered back into the locker room and sat down with Jeff and Shannon not noticing right away that Matt Bentley had set down next to Christopher. "My God a man that tall shouldn't be that pretty! IT has to be against the laws of nature or something."

Shannon snickered as Jeff grinned rolling his eyes. They were both well aware of their friend's crush on the tall Texan and were secretly happy that someone had caught his eye hoping that he would finally move on from his heartbreak, although they would never admit it to Jay. "You're such a dork Jay. " Shannon laughed.

Jay blushed thinking of the sight he'd just witnessed and chewed on the bottom of his lip. He'd known that when he made up the lame excuse of stretching his legs Jeff and Shannon would see right through it, but hoped that at least his new friends would believe it. He didn't know how they would feel about the new outsider eyeing one of their own just yet and was slightly afraid to risk the ridicule. He had not yet seen any open couples in this locker room and wasn't sure how he would be received if they found out he didn't walk the straight and narrow. He'd noticed that Kipp and Doggie who had been so openly affectionate in the WWF were very restrained here. Jay wasn't sure if that was from a strain in their relationship or because their love for each other was not accepted here.

When Jeff bumped his elbow Jay was jolted out of his thoughts and noticed his friend watching him with a worried smile on his face. Jay's eyes fell to the bench between where Jeff and Shannon were seated and noticed that the couple's fingers were entwined although the placement would not be obvious to anyone but him. Jay didn't know if this was deliberate or just a coincidence and found himself even more confused. Mentally he made a note to himself to ask them later when he could get him alone or to track down Doggie who he knew would give him the rundown on the dos and don'ts of the TNA backstage. "You guys are such assholes," Jay nuttered at Jeff and Shannon but the pair only giggled at him as Christopher rolled his eyes at their antics.

"Lance is a good guy. You should talk to him or something. He's kinda shy so you'll have to make the first… move."

Jay turned his attention to Christopher and knew from the smirk on his face the man knew something, but the chances of him sharing his information was slim to none. Jay hadn't decided what he thought of the Fallen Angel Christopher Daniels yet. His only experience with him was there in the TNA backstage while the other man was in character and Jay found the Fallen Angel highly annoying even for someone who was used to be calling a Creepy Little Bastard… Christopher Daniels was just…. strange. So far he had found himself rubbed the wrong way by the man, but since he knew the guy was a longtime friend of Jeff and Shannon's he was trying to give him a chance. He was hoping that eventually he would get him in a setting where the man instead of the character would be in charge and maybe he would then be more tolerable.

Noticing Matt for the first time, Jay smiled at him weakly as he twisted the ring on his finger nervously. Mentally he knew that he should take the ring off, but wasn't quite ready yet. With all the upheaval in his life at the moment it was one of the few familiar things he had left. He thought about Christopher's comment that Lance was shy and couldn't help but snorting at the irony. If Jay was supposed to be the outgoing brave one they may be in deep shit. It never failed to amaze him that even within the business where he was surrounded by people who were used to characters they just naturally assumed that he and Christian were one and the same.

The truth was Jay was shy on his best day, but now that everything he knew and was comfortable with gone Jay just wasn't sure he had what it took to be outgoing and confident right then. Finding the confidence to throw Christian at the world seemed to be just about all he could muster at the moment.

"You married?" He heard Matt ask and Jay studied the band of gold as he tried to come up with a safe answer. All he knew about this man was that he was a cousin of Shawn's. Not in a urge to offend the man if he should be one of those men who were intimidated and put off by gay's Jay looked for an answer that wouldn't get him jumped behind the building after the show.

"No, I was with someone, but… we're not together anymore. My occupation became too… menial for someone of their… importance. I keep thinking I should take it off but…" Jay shrugged not knowing how to explain it when Jay himself wasn't sure he understood and fortunately Matt nodded as if he knew what he meant. It was hard to give up that last symbol of a relationship no matter what it was.

"You really should talk to Lance when you're ready."

Jay cocked his head to one side studying the man. If he hadn't been watching him so closely and been so familiar with Shawn's ways he might have missed the flash of sparkle in his eyes signifying that streak of rebellion that apparently was a family trait. When Christopher jumped slightly Jay glanced down to see that Matt's hand had disappeared somewhere behind Christopher and Jay hid a smile wondering how cold the Texan's hand was on Christopher's back.

Smiling shyly Jay nodded at the younger man breathing a thanks. Maybe someday… when he was ready to give up on Chris ever coming back to him he'd find the nerve to speak to the "Ticked Off Texan" Lance Hoyt, but until then he'd just stick to dreaming.

The End!
