Dave woke up slowly laying on his stomach and looking at a wall that was not the same color as he remembered it should be. Frowning with confusion, he rolled over and as he reached underneath the covers to scratch an itch his hand froze as he saw Paul on the floor between the beds doing sit ups. Suddenly the events of the night before came back to him robbing him of what little peace he'd woken up with. Guilt over the unknown of what he did to Randy combined with the worry over the intelligence at trusting Paul with any kind of a beyond-work relationship clogged his mind momentarily. Dave found himself staring at Paul until the beauty of the situation if only momentarily pushed the rest aside.
Since Paul had the habit of closing his eyes as he did his sit-ups, Dave found himself with the rare opportunity to study his friend up close without too much risk of being caught. Rolling onto his side, Dave watched the muscles in Paul's stomach ripple as the sweat forming on his skin made his body glow. His hair was wet and clinging to his face.
Dave found his mind wandering as he imagined himself laid over that muscular physique and unconsciously his hand moved to curl around his member already hard with its moaning erection. His mind conjured up visions of their bodies tangled together as their mouths met allowing their tongues to dance. His breath quickened as he fantasized the feel of Paul's big hands grabbing his buttocks as his cock slid in and out of him as Dave worked to bring about his own release.
So caught in his factazy the forgot to be quiet, to be secretive, forgot everything but the fantasy in his head and let loose the moans built up in his chest calling his lover's name crying out even begging for more. His own eyes now drifted shut as his mind reached its climax the roar that he let loose along with the creamy release that accompanied it was as real as the man on the floor now set up straight wide eyed with surprise.
He'd laid awake all night growing more and more frustrated wondering if Dave would ever give him the chance that he was aching for. Yet here he was hot and sweaty from trying to work off some of that frustration hearing his name called from a man… the man... the only man that he cared about hearing his name called in such a fashion from who was obviously in the throws of some passionate day dream. Surprise was just the beginning of what he was feeling at the moment.
It wasn't until Dave's breathing returned to normal and his eyes slowly drifted open to find himself looking into Paul's stunned hazel orbs that Dave realized what he'd just done. Immediately his face warmed and Dave rolled over to escape not sure where he was going only that it was far from those eyes, when he found himself pinned to the bed by the body he'd just fantasized about and under the scrutiny of the eyes he wanted to escape.
"Oh no you don't," Paul said softly, his own erection pressed against Dave's thigh.
Dave wasn't sure how long they laid there like that with chests heaving and eyes locked before he realized that Paul's mouth was getting closer. Somewhere in the back of his mind Dave remembered Randy, but something shoved him aside. By the time their lips met Dave had convinced himself that after last night he and Randy were more or less through. All that was left was the making it official.
The touch, so heavily anticipated for some long, wrung a moan from the man demon's lips as his hips arched allowing his legs to wrap around Paul's waist. From that moment he refused to thin, refused to question the rightness of this, and instead only allowed himself to feel the ecstasy that he'd needed for so long. Life imitated art as hands roamed and lips explored. By the time Paul was buried within him Dave knew there was no going back from there. He was committed to Paul and details be damned.
And when he found his release for the second time that morning it was immediately following his new lover's brought on by the touch of those rough calloused hands on his aching dripping cock. In that moment in time when reality and fantasy blur Dave found himself praying that this time it was forever. Later though when his thoughts cleared and his pulse calmed Dave again found himself questioning what he was doing.
His love life was nothing more than one fucked up relationship after another and Dave wasn't sure that he had the heart or the guts left to see this particular relationship come crashing down around him. He wasn't sure he would be able to survive it. Clenching his eyes closed tightly Dave's fists clenched at his sides as he willed himself not to care, demanded that his traitorous hope go back into its cell so that he might be left with something for all the tomorrows to come. The moment he felt Paul's hand on his cheek though he knew it wasn't going to happen.
Paul's finger touched the corner of Dave's eye frowning at the moisture there and wondered at his intelligence in this morning expedition. It was obvious that Dave wasn't quite ready yet to trust, but fortunately Paul was a patient man when it came to the things he wanted the most. Leaning down he placed his lips gently on Dave's before pulling back happy when the brown of Dave's eyes became visible.
"I know you're probably freaking out right now, but I want you to know it's going to be ok. This time it is going to be different for you, because I am not any of the others that have come before me and I certainly am not Randy Orton. I am a man who knows what he wants, knows what he needs, knows what he longs for and baby that's you. I love you David Batista. I love you more than any other person in this world including my wife. I love you enough that I would risk everything I have including my career if it means I can spend forever with you.
"I love you, and I know you well enough to know that you're over there hoping for some way that your life can go back to a time before you woke up so you can avoid all this, but me… I plan on holding this close to my heart, close to my soul for as long as there is air in my lungs. I know you aren't ready for a step as big as we just took. All I ask is that you don't run from me.
"If you'll give me a chance we can step back and slow this back down. Work at this gradually. Let this relationship build like it should so that when the day comes that we have to stand up in front of the world and unveil it we won't buckle from the pressure.
"Gimmie a chance Dave. Give US a chance. Please I'm beggin ya man."
Dave's breath caught as he realized this big strong man above him was begging. The desperation in his eyes was easily read. The truth in his words was for Dave who spent so much time with him also easily read. While Triple H may be a bastard capable of anything, the man Paul wasn't nearly as good at keeping his thoughts, emotions, and feelings hidden especially around those that knew him.
Taking a deep breath Dave forced down his nerves and fears. He made himself leave that tiny ray of hope alone so that he could feed off it and maybe, just maybe if they did as Paul suggested, if they stepped back and took their time letting themselves come back to this position naturally, maybe this time it would be forever. Nodding slightly Dave blushed almost shyly then put his hands over his face burying the giggle that escaped at Paul's shout of triumph wondering what the people on the other side of the wall must be thinking.
As he watched Paul's haphazard victory dance Dave was struck with two important thoughts. One was that maybe, just maybe forever really was a possibility for him. The second was that big muscular white men with very little sense of rhythm should never try to dance… even if they look excessively cute in their abundant clumsiness.
