"Are you sure we should be sneaking into Nash's locker room, Austin?" Alex asked, his voice unsure and slightly apprehensive as they snuck stealthily forwards towards the closed door down the corridor.
"It'll be great. We'll sneak in there while he's in his meeting and take his bag. It's the perfect prank, Alex. Now quit your wining and let's do this thing." Austin replied for what seemed to be the fiftieth time.
The two men continued to creep forward, whispering back and forth to each other as they went. They wanted to do this because Kevin had been telling them the other day about some of the pranks he and his friends used to play on each other, and he had sounded like he enjoyed it. Sometimes Kevin really seemed to miss the guys he used to hang out with, and Austin and Alex wanted to prove to him that they were just as good, and just as much fun, as those guys had been.
Finally they reached the door and listened intently for a few seconds. Everything seemed clear, though, so with his heart beating rapidly in his chest, Alex reached forward and took ahold of the doorknob. Austin batted his hand away and reached for it himself, wanting to take as much credit for this rib as possible. After a short scuffle between the two men, Austin finally began turning the knob as Alex held his head between his hands, grumbling to himself that there had been no call for Austin to try to tear his hair out.
The two men no more than got into the room before they were at it again. This time they were arguing over who was going to get the bag, and who was supposed to be the lookout. It quickly escalated into the two of them rolling around on the floor, screaming, clawing, and pulling at each other's hair.
"Hey big guy? Ya didn't tell me you were sharing a locker room with someone, chico?" Scotty said as the two of them walked in. They looked like a pair of girls having a catfight, not a pair of wrestlers who should know how to do actual damage to each other.
Alex and Austin broke apart at the sound of Scott's voice, climbing to their feet and blushing profusely at having been caught. Austin was busy shuffling his toe and trying to get rid of the embarrassment clawing through his gut. Alex, on the other hand began immediately trying to explain away their actions. "Kev, we didn't expect you back so soon. Austin and I wanted to talk to you. About the script. Yeah, we, uh, didn't understand something."
"And that equaled a cat fight? Must be some major misunderstanding." Kevin said as he shook his head and closed his locker room door. "You wanna tell me about it?" Casually throwing his arm over Scotty's shoulders and giving them an amused look.
"We don't like the idea of Alex and Lethal having to hold hands in this limbo challenge thing. Then they have him trying to kiss him *again*." Austin blurted out, honestly it was the first thing that came to mind.
"You don't like that, huh? Well then, who do you suggest he holds hands with instead?" Kevin asked, trying to hold back the laughter at the `WTF' look that Alex had on his face.
"It could be me and Alex. Seriously, Kev, they make him try to kiss everyone, and it just looks bad." Austin stated, nodding. There, that sounded somewhat reasonable, and to top it off, he had been worried about what they were doing to his friend's character, anyway.
"So you want Alex to kiss you?" Scotty asked, nodding seriously. "Yeah, I can see that. It makes sense."
"Uhm, no. That wasn't what I was saying. I was just saying…" Austin said, shaking his head in denial and backing away slightly, his voice trailing off for a second before finishing triumphantly. "I mean, I just think they're making a joke out of his character. You don't wanna go around kissing Scott, do you?"
"Why not?" Kevin asked, dropping his mouth to peck Scotty quickly on the lips to reiterate his point. "Face it, Alex has charisma. This little skit proves that, and whether the fans are laughing at him or taking him seriously, they're paying attention, and that's what matters."
Alex nodded in response, a thoughtful look on his face at Kevin's words. That was true, everyone was noticing him now, one way or another, and that was what mattered. Besides, he was having fun with this angle, and that was what mattered.
"Alright, kids, get lost. Kev and I gotta talk before it's time to take ya'lls segments." Scotty said, turning around and making shooing motions towards the door.
Alex and Austin gave them another glance before reluctantly heading out the door, Alex throwing a regretful glance towards the bag they never got the chance to take, but they would get it next time. Maybe they could do something else instead for today. The two of them left the locker room, getting no further than the hallway before they were once again arguing amongst themselves, this time over what Austin had said to Kevin about Alex's character.
Kevin shook his head as he listened to the argument for a long second while they walked down the hallway before shaking his head and closing the door. Some people never figured it out. Oh well, that was their problem. Suddenly, he got to thinking about something Austin said to Alex, though he wasn't exactly sure what it meant. Turning to Scotty, Kevin dropped another, this time slightly longer kiss to his lips before pulling back and grinning down at him. "Hey Scotty, I gotta ask. What *does* January feel like?" Scotty just burst out laughing.
End.
