Part 10

"Where have you guys been? I thought I was going to have to come search for you myself." Kevin seemed slightly irritated as Scott, Sean, and Chris walked into the kitchen.

"Had to find a crowbar." Kevin raised an eyebrow at Scott's reply.

"Why in the hell would you need a crowbar?"

"To pry the blondes apart." Scott fought to keep the grin off his face as Kevin's puzzled look. "They were joined at the lips."

Kevin's look turned from puzzled to slightly interested. He turned to look at Sean as they seated themselves at the table. "Where were you? I sent you to get them first."

"Spotting."

"Spotting?" Kevin wondered if he were the only sane one left in the group. He'd also noticed the one blonde in question currently present was fidgeting and sporting a blush.

"Yep. With the workout they were trying to fit in, I wanted to make sure they didn't hurt themselves."

Chris's strangled snort drew the eyes of the other three men. With his elbows on the table he had his face buried in his hands, unsure if he was going to die of embarrassment or from laughing so hard. When Kevin asked the next question he figured he might as well get in on the fun.

"So…where is Shawn?"

Chris looked at Kevin with an innocent smile. "In the closet."

"In the closet?"

A small nod was all Kevin's question elicited. Chris waited.

"Well, do you think he'll be coming out of the closet anytime soon so we can eat?"

Just as Kevin asked his question Shawn was approaching the doorway. A puzzled look on his face, he wondered why Kevin thought he was in a closet. He waited for the answer before entering.

Chris barely managed to keep a straight face as he said, "I don't know Kevin. I don't think Vince would be very happy about it if Shawn came out of the closet."

"Why in the hell would Vince care if Shawn came out of the…" Muffled laughter drifted into the room from the hallway. Just then Kevin realized what he was about to ask. "Aww hell, I hate you guys. When did this become pick on Kevin night?"

The rest of the men at the table began laughing hard. As Shawn walked through the door, he asked, "When isn't it pick on Kevin night? You just make it too easy Kev."

Kevin's grumpy growl set off another round of laughter.

Shawn took a seat next to Chris at the table. They quickly filled their plates and began eating. Shawn used any excuse to touch Chris while they ate. Brushing his fingers against Chris's while they passed the dishes. Laying his hand on Chris's knee under cover of the table as he ate. He used the back of Chris's chair as an armrest so he could run his fingers through his hair and rub them against the back of his neck. Despite the dirty looks Chris would shoot at him every so often, Shawn was having fun trying to touch him as much as possible without the others catching on.

Although Chris enjoyed Shawn touching him, it was driving him to distraction. Each caress reminded him of their interlude in the den. He had a feeling that Shawn was testing him to see if he would actually follow through on the threat of throwing him on the table and having his way with him. The thought of actually doing so both terrified and excited him. He liked the idea of being watched, yet he knew he would be horribly embarrassed afterwards.

Halfway through the meal Chris happened to notice Kevin watching him with a look of consideration. He was already on edge with Shawn teasing him and after the confrontation with the big man earlier, he couldn't handle Kevin eyeing him like a bug on a pin. "Do I have something stuck in my teeth, Nash?" So it was a little bit rude. Chris was tired of the attitude he'd gotten from him so far.

"Don't get your drawers in a twist, Chris." Kevin's smirk was hardly lessening his irritation with the man.

"Kind of hard to do when I'm not wearing any." He'd responded without thinking and immediately blushed as he realized that might be a little too much information to divulge at the dinner table. The choking noise Shawn made didn't help matters. He glared at Shawn until he'd gotten himself under control. Sean's snicker from across the table went ignored, as did Scott's quiet coughing into his hand.

"That's always nice to hear." Chris shivered at the salacious look he was now receiving from Big Sexy. He dropped his head into his heads, praying to some god to spare him from further embarrassment. Fortunately for him, someone was listening. Kevin, by some miracle, changed the topic with his next comment.

"Actually, the reason I was staring at you, was that I was trying to decide if I should apologize for acting like an ass earlier. I'm not entirely sure you won't fling it back in my face, but… I'm sorry. It's not that I think Hunter's not capable of some pretty nasty things, I was just hoping he wasn't so blind that he'd use them against one of our own. I didn't want to believe he'd hurt Shawn that way."

Chris hadn't been expecting him to actually apologize. He nodded in acknowledgment. "I actually expected you to defend him, Kevin. There are a few people that I would do the same for. I hope you can understand that I refuse to allow anyone to believe that I'm using Shawn. I know jumping on you was a bit extreme, but I'm not going to apologize for it, because you were acting like an ass."

Kevin laughed quietly both at the twinkle in Chris's eye and the fact that he'd called him on his behavior. Few men were willing to stand up to him. That Chris was able to do so impressed him. "We may never be the best of friends Jericho, but it seems like you make Shawn happy. As long as you don't hurt him, then I'm willing to try to get along. Keep him happy and we'll have no problems."

"I intend to. I will never intentionally hurt Shawn. I plan to do everything in my power to make him happy."

"Awwwwwww. Isn't that sweet, Scott?" Sean was tired of the tension and hoped to relieve it a bit. He was also trying to avoid the questions he knew Kevin and Scott were waiting to ask Jericho about some of his earlier comments.

Chris grabbed a dinner roll from the bowl nearest him and chucked it at Sean. "Will you please shut the hell up?" Everyone laughed. Chris's rosy cheeks were amusing to them all. It wasn't often that any of them could muster up a blush anymore, so someone that fell to it easily was a sure target.

"Besides, it's not like we'll mind seeing you around. You are easy on the eyes. The fact that you don't wear anything under those skin tight pants, well that'll just make it more interesting for the rest of us." The full grin on Kevin's face clued Chris into the fact that Kevin was going to enjoy teasing him.

Chris's head dropped to the table, just missing his plate. "God, I hate you." Kevin didn't seem worried about it in the least as he returned to eating. Shawn was beaming now that the two had "kissed and made up" so to speak. 'Hmmm. That's not a bad thought at all.' Shawn thought to himself as they finished their meal. Maybe we'll see what dessert has to offer.

****

"I'm so full I don't know if I'll have room for dessert." Scott groaned as he leaned back in his chair.

"You should know better when you eat here Scott. Donna left him a chocolate cake." Sean said teasingly.

"In that case, I suppose I can force myself to eat another bite or two. That woman spoils you shamelessly Shawn."

Shawn smiled brightly. Donna took care of the house for him while he was away. Whenever he let her know he was coming home she left him all manner of baked items. She knew how he loved chocolate cake and he'd bet anything there was a carton of French Vanilla ice cream to go with it. Donna's husband, Wes, took care of the horses he kept in the barn and tended the grounds. The couple treated him somewhat like a wayward son and he treated them as adoptive parents of a sort.

"What can I say, everyone loves H…B…K." Shawn said, swiping Rob's hand gestures. The responding snorts and laughs from the rest of the table earned them all glares. "You're all just jealous."

"Damn. If the egos get any larger at this table, there isn't going to be a place for Scott or I to sit." Sean laughed as the three other men at the table sent him evil looks.

Shawn stuck his tongue out at Sean before heading over to the freezer to search for his ice cream. Kevin got up to get the cake from the countertop. Chris with some direction from Shawn found dishes for their dessert. After digging out the ice cream, Shawn reached into the refrigerator and grabbed a couple more items before heading back to the table. Kevin sliced the cake and handed it out while Shawn dished out the ice cream.

When Chris received his dish from Shawn he had to smirk. "Oh look! Whipped cream and a cherry on top. Aren't we special."

Shawn turned to him with a wicked grin, the can of Reddi-Wip held in his hand. "If you don't watch it, you're going to be wearing whipped cream with a cherry on top."

"Come on now Shawn, I can see you wanting my cherry, but unfortunately that's been gone for a long, long time. I didn't realize you had a food fetish." Chris swiped a finger full of whipped cream and popped it into his mouth.

Scott and Kevin both groaned and Sean stared in fascination as Chris slowly pulled the finger from his mouth sucking the cream off it as he went. When the offending digit left his mouth with a wet pop, Shawn's mouth dropped open. "You are evil, sweetheart."

"I know, but you love me anyway." Chris smirked as Shawn dropped into his chair with a groan and started eating his cake. He started getting nervous though at the contemplative looks Shawn kept throwing at him. He knew Shawn planned to get even with him, even though he'd shelled out most of the teasing since the meal had started.

He watched as Shawn ate his dessert. The way he used his tongue to swipe the chocolate frosting and ice cream off the spoon was damn near obscene. With each bite, Chris felt his pants growing tighter. He was almost to the point of seriously carrying out the threat he'd made earlier. The presence of the others was the only thing holding him back. There was no way he could make the first move. He wasn't against the idea of them watching and it actually kind of thrilled him to know they would be. He just didn't want them to know that he wanted them to watch.

Shawn on the other hand, was wondering just how much trouble he was going to be in if he followed through with his plan. He knew Chris had to be in agony. He'd put up with a lot of teasing within the last twelve or so hours and considering how long it had been since Chris had actually seen any action, he had to be wanting it pretty bad. Shawn wanted to give it to him, but he also knew that the guys weren't going to let them sneak away just yet to be alone. They'd be lucky to find any time alone before Thursday, when the other men would have to leave. Maybe if he started out with something slow, Chris would warm up to the idea of letting them watch. There was only one way to find out.
