Part 2

After Matt Hardy paid a generous retainer and left with Glen's promise that he would be in touch, the detective stared at the photograph of Jeff, trying to get a read on his personality. He picked up the phone and dialed a number and barked into it, "Get your scrawny ass over here! We've got a new job!". He hung up and opened the letter that Matt had given him, smiling as he read the contents. One line in particular caught his attention immediately: "Matt, I have met the most wonderful guy in the world. I think he loves me! I met him at this club, The Lair. He's a dancer there and we have been spending a lot of time together. I'll write soon and let you know what happens."

Glen leaned back in his chair, deep in thought. The Lair was the hottest club in town. He had never been there because he thought it was just a meat market and he had no taste for indiscriminate sex with strangers. He frowned as he recalled his former lover's attachment to the club and the tension it caused. As a result, he lost his beloved Rob to someone he met there. He looked up as his partner and sometime lover, Chris Irvine, burst into the office, breathless from running up the stairs, "You said something about a job? A paying gig?" Glen nodded, "Yeah. The guy even paid a cash retainer." Chris, whose nickname was "Jericho," smiled widely, "How much?" Glen slid the envelope over to him, "Look for yourself." Jericho's eyes popped as he counted the money, "There's $5000.00 in here! What the fuck do we have to do?" Glen took the envelope back to put in the safe, "Just find this kid," and held out the photo. Jericho took the picture from Glen's hand, "He's cute, but he ain't no kid big guy." Glen glared at his partner, "Just a figure of speech asshole! Now, his older brother wants him found and we're going to find him!"

Jericho plopped down on the desk in front of Glen, "Sure we'll find him, if he wants to be found. What do you know about him so far?" Glen stared at Jericho's crotch, which was inches from his face, "Get your ass off my desk!" Jericho grinned knowingly, "Is there a problem big man?" Glen shoved his partner off his desk, "Now is not the time Chris. The last letter that Jeff sent to his brother mentions his meeting someone at The Lair. I guess we'll have to start there." Chris grinned again, "Please tell me I get that part! I love that place!" Glen frowned, "No! I'll handle that; you go check out his last known address. Maybe he left a forwarding address." Jericho pouted, "It would be better if I went to The Lair; that's not your kind of place. Besides, you might run into someone you don't want to see." Glen glared at him, "I can handle it! You go in there, and there's no telling when you'll come out! I'll go there tonight, maybe this dancer that Jeff met is still working there." Jericho shrugged his shoulders, "You're the boss!"
