"You shouldn't be here."

"I know but I couldn't stay away."

"I'm glad you were weak for once in your life." The younger man whispered teasingly.

"Yeah well, don't go spreading that around the locker room."

"I wasn't plannin' on it."

"Good." Scott whispered. "I really missed you."

"I really missed ya, too." Jeff whispered and ran his fingertips down Scott's cheek. "Can ya stay tonight?"

"Mmm, I think so." Scott murmured. "Tommy has company so he won't know I'm gone. Where's Matt?"

"With Paul."

"Ah."

"Yeah." Jeff sighed.

"I'm sorry, monk." Scott said softly.

"Don't be. It ain't your fault my brother's an asshole."

"It's my fault that you had to choose between your family and being with me."

Jeff shook his head. "Matt's the one who threw a fit when I told him that I was tired of him running my life and of being his plaything."

"Yes but..."

"But what?"

"He hurt you." Scott whispered.

"After all the ring injuries I've had, two broken ribs, a busted lip, and a black eye cause of my brother ain't nothing."

"To me, it is. It tore me up to see you laying in that hospital bed. All I wanted to do was rip that motherfucker limb from limb."

"That wouldn't have helped any."

"I know." Scott sighed and softly kissed the now yellowish bruise under Jeff's eye.

"On the other hand." Jeff murmured softly. "That helped."

"Did it?" Scott whispered.

"Hmm-mmm."

"Then maybe I should do it again."

"Maybe ya should."

Scott chuckled as he brushed his lips over Jeff's cold forehead. "You cold, monk?"

"A lil."

"We'll warm you up real soon." Scott whispered and trailed his lips over Jeff's right eye, cheek, and nose. He then went to work on the left side of Jeff's face pausing only to lick his jaw.

"Scotty." Jeff moaned softly. "Missed you..."

"Missed you too, monk...so very much."

"Kiss me."

"Not yet."

"Please." Jeff whimpered.

"You know the rules." Scott chided softly.

"Fuck the rules."

"I'd rather fuck you."

"God, ya torture me sometimes."

"Sometimes?" Scott smirked.

"All the fuckin' time."

Scott laughed and licked Jeff's collarbone. "And I'm pretty fucking good at it, too."

"Uh huh...oooohhhh."

"Mmm, found your sweet spot." Scott whispered and nipped at the sensitive skin just beneath his lover's ear. "Well, one of them."

"Why don'tcha try and find the other one?" Jeff breathed.

"Oh, don't worry." Scott smiled. "I plan on doing just that."

"You okay?"

"Fucking incredible." Jeff smiled tiredly. "You are amazing."

"Tell me something."

"Anything."

"Why is it you suddenly speak proper English the minute you've been fucked?" Scott smirked.

Jeff laughed and flipped him off.

"Oh, that's nice." Scott laughed and pulled Jeff into his arms.

"Ain't it?"

"Oh yeah...and that's the Carolina boy I know and love."

"Ya love me?"

"You know I do, Jeff."

"I know." Jeff smiled softly. "But I like to hear it."

"I love you Jeffrey Nero Hardy." Scott grinned.

"Scotty..." Jeff groaned.

"Jeffy..."

"I hate when ya do that."

"Do what?"

"Call me by my full name. Ya make me feel like I'm back in school or somethin'."

"I'm sorry, monk." Scott whispered and nuzzled Jeff's neck.

"Mmm, s'ok." Jeff murmured softly. "I love ya, too."

"I'm glad." Scott glanced and the clock and sighed. "It's late..."

"Stay."

"Are you sure?"

"Very."

"Okay. Jeff?"

"Yeah Scotty?"

"Wanna come home with me tomorrow morning?"

"What?" Jeff whispered.

"Do you want to come to Jersey with me tomorrow?" Scott repeated softly.

Jeff nodded eagerly.

"Good." Scott smiled and hugged his lover tightly. "I already have the tickets. We're leaving before everyone else."

"Thank ya, Scotty."

"No need to thank me, monk. I wanted to. I know it's only for a few days but at least we'll be alone together."

"That sounds so nice."

"Don't it?" Scott grinned.

"Ya starting to sound like me." Jeff laughed.

"Now I know I'm tired."

"Ewwww."

"Oh, be quiet. You know I'm teasing you."

"I know." Jeff smiled. "Night, night Scotty. I love you."

"Night Jeff." Scott whispered. "I love you, too."

The room fell silent as the two fell asleep peacefully, neither of them aware of the imminent danger that lurked in the shadows.
